Home Theater : What Is The Best Surround System For Around Two Hundred Dollars

Home Theater : Will A 2way Video Splitter Work With My Cable Tv And Internet At The Same Time
I use my plasma 42 inch for watching tv (cable) as well as a playing xbox360 games online. So I find myself constantly switching the wall connection between the tv cable and the internet cable. Home Theater : How Do I Get My Computer To Work With My Onkyo Home Theater System
I have a Dell XPS 400 with the standard sound card. (Blue, green, pink, yellow, and black jacks) I also have an Onkyo home theater system. I am trying to run my computer through the Onkyo and when I got it connected I only get sound from the left side and center. I set the soundcard to home theater surround sound in the sounds and audio devices panel of the computer and tried all the jacks on the sound card. I also tried every possible combination on the back of the Onkyo, but nothing changes. Will this just not work, or do I need a different soundcard? If so what kind? ~~~ Jeff ~~~
Home Theater : What Is The Best Way To Convert My Vinyl Collection To Digital
I have $200 to spend and want to get the highest quality mp3s. I imagine I'd need a USB preamp, but what is the best to get for a pc? And what works with my budget? I'm a digital DJ so I'd prefer a direct-drive turntable to belt-driven. Any help you can provide is great! Thanks. ~~~ mookie1510 ~~~

Home Theater : How Can I Get Surround Sound From My Playstation 3
I'm planning to get surround sound for my PS3 but i don't know much about this stuff, can anyone tell me what i need to buy and what to do? But just the things that i really need I don't have that big of a budget. I'm from the Philippines by the way so if anyone can give instructions on where to go please do. Also, my dad set up a surround sound in my room a few years ago, and i was wondering if i could use that instead of buying a new one and if i can, how? He said it's impossible, the speakers are too small, each of them is about .5 inches, will it really not work? Oh yeah and if i do need to buy something new, how much would it cost, it's fine to tell me in dollars, I'll just convert it. ~~~ Jerby L ~~~
Home Theater : How Do I Know The Quality Of A Home Theater System
Using specifications such as wattage, etc, how can I tell the quality of a home theater system? I want to find a good set for around $100-$200 but I don't know a lot about sound fidelity. Also, any home theater system suggestions? ~~~ msc44 ~~~
Home Theater : How Many Feet Of Wire Will I Need To Make My New Speakers Be The Same Volume As My Old Ones
I recently bought some new bookshelf speakers to comnpliment some floor speakers in my home theater system. The news speakers can output 100 watts and are 4 ohms, and will require a mininum of 15 feet of wire. The old speakers can output 100 watts and are 8 ohms, and will require at least 10 feet of wire. The wire I'm using is 16AWG. Each set of speakers will be about three feet from the listener. My question is, how much wire will I need to run to each speaker to make them have the same volume, and how can I calculate this? I should have been more specific. There are a pair of 8 ohm speakers (front) and a pair of 4 ohm speakers (surround). Each of these have a maximum of 100 watts. The reciever itself does not have a way to adjust the volume on a specific speaker, just the system as a whole. ~~~ Adam S ~~~
Home Theater : Is There Any Way To Buy A Replacement For A Lost Disc In A DVD Set
I am wondering specifically for Desperate Housewives. I own both seasons 1 and 2 of the series, and am missing disc 3 of each. I have been thinking of buying both DVD sets again, but that seems to be a waste of money when it's really only the one disc that I need. There is also the option of downloading the missing episodes on iTunes, but then I won't get the special features that come on those particular discs. Any ideas? Thanks so much. ~~~ Kayla ~~~
Home Theater : How Much Should I Expect To Pay For A Replacement Original Amplifier For A Polk Audio PSW404 Sub System
The amplifier is no longer usable, so it is out of the question to repair it and the warranty would not cover it, but I do have the subwoofer and would like to have the same amplifier because I enjoyed the quality of the sound. ~~~ r_nofziger ~~~

Home Theater : How Do I Connect My Computer To Standalone Speakers
I have two speakers I'd like to connect to my computer. Each speaker has a pair of binding posts - a black (-) post and a red (+) post that will accept banana plugs or bare wire. I'm not sure of the simplest way to go from stereo to two of these speakers. ~~~ Josh H ~~~
Home Theater : Business Projector Versus A Home Theater Projector Is There That Much Of A Difference In Black Levels
I am budgeting about 500-600 for the project and about 100 for the screen. I can afford a 2000 projector. A ViewSonic PJ506D SVGA (800x600) 4:3/16:9 2000 lumens business projector is going for 500 with a mail free screen and mount offer. An InFocus In72 WVGA (852x480) 900 lumens home theater projector is going for about the same refurbished with no extras. I have read that I really should get a home theater projector rather than a business projector like the 506D, but the lumens scares me. I am projecting on an 80"screen with blinds and curtains closed. no lights. still some ambient light. Which will be better. I am going to use it the a really nice DVD player, Wii and Home theater PC. No interest in HD DVDs for atleast 3-4 years when I will prob upgrade this anyway. ~~~ bjmarchini ~~~

Right now, the cables behind my audio receiver are tangled beyond recognition. I need to organize them... How should I bundle my speaker wire to minimize RF and EM interference?
