Best Answer To Car Audio Question
As long as the ohms are correct for the amp, you should make it work, as for having better sound not likely better to stick with 1 speaker to a channel. Be nice if you told us what amp and speakers you are using, but this site will help you wire the speaker up /caraudio/#ser

Answer 1only if it a 4 channel amp. if you connect 4 speakers to a mono or 2 channel amp it could over load it. setting up an amp will definetly give you much better audio quality though.

Answer 3The number of channels on an amp doesn't limit it to the number of speakers you have connected, but impedance (ohms) and the frequency being sent to specific speakers does. You can put as many speakers on a channel as long as the impedance doesn't fall fall below what the amp can handle. Since subs cannot tolerate high freqencies, they too are usually driven by a seperate amp as well as the difference in power. Most systems will have higher powered amps for the subs than the other speakers. An example, four subs and each sub is 100 watts RMS @ 4 ohm and the amp is 400 watts @ 4 ohm, you will have no problems with wiring all four subs to the amp like so See my site for more info on subs, enclosures and other tips .
Answer 4All you really need to do is check the amp outputs to see what impedance they run - if it's multi, you could be okay. Remember, more speakers doesn't mean more volume or sound, more AMP does that. Here's the math, look at the back of the speakers and the amp. Series (amp to speaker, speaker to speaker) Parallel (amp to speaker, amp to other speaker) For stereo, use parallel If your amp has an 8 ohm output per channel, you can hook up (2) four ohm speakers per channel. If it's a 16 ohm output, you can hook up to (4) four ohm speakers per output. Or one 8 ohm speaker. Then you consider wattage, you need to match the power ot the consumption, except for subs, which can be overpowered more easily. The wattage output has to match the chain, otherwise either error (wattage or impedance/ohms) makes heat and distortion, which wear out components, and in extreme cases, start fires.
