I know this sounds strange to modern women, but men feel threatened by their women if they are too independent. men are still innatley protective and providing by nature and although the times have moved us forward, men biologically haven't and lack the kind of communication skills women are so expert on feelings. For men today, they try to keep up and try to understand the woman and support her whilst she is trying to better herself to become more than a house-wife. Society demands that a woman is more than a stay at home mum. The one major thing that breaks marriages apart is the lack of 'vulnerability' us women show and this is essential if a man is to feel he is needed in a relationship. Vulnerability is so misunderstood by people and is not about being weak or placid, but about not always knowing the answers and sometimes often taking a back-seat so that the man feels that he is driving the relationship forward. This is man's most basic and essential functioning and this hasn't changed because society has changed. Career orientated women for example, lose their vulnerability because they are forced to be in control and organized and to know what is expected of them and live up to standards most humans naturally cannot live up to but do and then become very stressed out because of the pressures and demands from all quarters. They are continually being taught fashion and how to look, how to get a career and this somehow divorces them from the attention they want to give to their husbands and home-life. They become pulled in both directions. A man then feels the woman is not needing of him and he retorts to affairs or self-isolation. He feels rejected and not because his wife wants for him to feel like this, but because the more modern she becomes and independant, the more she loses her ability to let the man take the driving seat. This is man's purpose in life and what comes natural to him and has done this for thousands of years and although he is modern, he hasn't changed otherwise. Women are innatley vulnerabile but they disguise it with so much focus on being the modern woman. Vulnerability is the key to a successful marriage if it is understood properly. The art of being equal and vulnerable is a skill and successful marriages work because they understand and work with those abilities. It is about letting the man have control more often than not and to be independent at the same time. Not all women get this, but this is what they secrecy is.
