Answer 13I think it would be a really cute idea to go to a professional portrait studio and have some pictures taken together. Maybe wear matching colors and go classic on the photography style (black background). My husband and I got married when we were just 18 and even though my parents didn't approve, there's really nothing they can do. We now have a 1 year old daughter and expecting a son this May. We've sent out nice announcements for both of our kids too - since we're so young we thought it'd be a nice way to tell our family without them getting upset. It worked. Good luck!

I think if it were my family, it may make it easier if they got "; Like if you're out with your mom for lunch, say that he's kind of been hinting about marriage, like talking about what kind of house he wants to live in. Or tell them about a big trip or vacation you're taking together. Eventually, it will seem natural that you two are engaged and you can tell them without it being shocking. Good luck!
Answer 15I'm not sure if this actually answers your question or not but I think that it is funny. When we got engaged, my husband called to tell his brother (he only has brothers, no sisters). He told him, "You are finally going to have a ; His brother was so confused, he said, "Mom's pregnant??" :) I thought that it was funny.
Answer 16just where the ring, go over there (normally), and just sit with your hand on your chin, propped up against your head, etc. to where they can see it. i did this to people in my research lab at school, and just casually put my hands in places where they could see, and they FREAKED. it was hilarious. so much fun. i wish i had've done this to everyone. it was great. i was 21 and he was 22 when we got engaged. they freaked out, but in a good way.
