Best Answer To Weddings Question
In doing my wedding reasearch I discovered that photography is one of the most expensive componet to the wedding. I feel that is pretty reasonable. I've recieved advise from a lot of people and they advised me not to cheap out on the photographer because these are memories you will want to keep for a life time and even show the grandchildren. If you get bad photography you may not want to show those off. I've even seen alot of law suits brought to court due to bad photography.

Answer 1wow that's a lot! if money is tight I would ask everyone to take as many pics as they could and send them to you or hire a teen relatives that needs money. I'm lucky a close friend is going to do most of the pics and other family will do the rest.
Answer 2I paid around that..but I got prints.. I do photography myself and have a decent camera, So I thought I would get someone to use that and get friends etc to take pictures...but we decided to get a photographer in the end and I can not stress enough how much I would recommend that..it takes away all the stress off others and after spending all the money for one day you want to be able to look back on some decent pictures of it. It doesn't cost that much to get prints though at a development shop..and you wouldn't want more than like 30 of the best ones anyway.
Answer 3That sounds about right. The photographer I used offered something similar; I believe it was about $1500 for 6 hours, plus the files and online photos.
Answer 4My sister paid 800 pounds for her photographer for all day. From 10am till about 11pm. He then downloaded the photos on his laptop and projected them on the walls of the hall for guests to see. He was very good.

Answer 6That sounds perfect! Will you own your pictures then too? My photographer is charging about the same thing and giving us all that w/o prints and we'll own the rights to our pics. That way we don't have to pay expensive costs of having them print them and decide between pics.
Answer 7That's not a bad price if they are spending all day with you.
Answer 8For a top-notch photographer, that's cheap. Most good photographers charge extra for the digital files and make you buy all the pictures you just paid them to take. If you like the photographer's style and they have excellent references, book them!
Answer 9don't worry we spent £1500 it all depends what you get for your money. The same photographer could have cost between £750 and £2000. In the end we were very happy with what we got so it is really up to you what you think is value for money. One thing is to ask the photographer for references and ask them if they feel they got value for money. The trick of getting family members to do it means that you will probably get a really crap bunch of photos, regardless of how good they claim to be, don't forget the only reason half the family turned up was just a reason to get drunk together for the first time since the last BDM.
Answer 10it varies from area to area. I'm in the Chicago area, so that sounds like a good deal. but if you are in a smaller or more rural area, then that might be too much. call around and get price quotes from other photographers.
Answer 11The price doesn't sound to bad. Though you don't get any prints. It does depend which state you live in and how experienced the photographer is. some of the wedding photographers have pricing listed. It will give you an idea how your deal compares. If a company doesn't have pricing then use the site to ask them. It is definitely worth looking around, even if it is just to settle your own mind. Simeonq
