Etiquette : How Do You Notify Close Friends And Family Where You Are Registered Without Sounding Pushy And Rude
I am pregnant with my first child. This is only the second grandchild in my family and the second great grandchild. I want to let family in the US know that I have registered there for their convenience and also let family in Canada know what I need (for those unable to attend my baby shower). How can I inform them without making them feel obligated or offended? ~~~ Lindsey Loo ~~~

If you are having a baby shower, the host for the shower can include an insert with the party invitation with the names of your registries. Otherwise, you can have a close friend or family member send an email or announcement on your behalf. They shouldn't feel offended, but it's nice that you are being considerate.

Answer 2I actually saw a question here on Y!A in regards to wedding invitations. How this relates is that she made a website that had lodging, registry and other information and at the bottom of the invitation she put the website. If you havent sent out shower invitations yet, you can make a website with all the baby's information, maybe a sonogram picture. You could invite the people in the US that you know wont come but would like to get you a gift, and that way they'll have an opportunity to find out where you're registered, etc.
Answer 3Send them a baby shower invite with your registry stuff included. It isn't rude everyone does this. Even if they can't come if they want to send you a gift, which most do, they usually will send it around the same time so you can open all of them together.
