Best Answer To Golf Question

A little physics is in order here, regarding spin on the ball. Those dimples are what makes the ball fly as it does through air, disrupting the air flow around the ball surface, which reduces air friction, making the ball travel further for a given swing. In your case the club face is "late" with the leading edge being at the handle side imparting a clockwise spin (viewed from on top) on the ball which pulls the ball to the right (if right handed). The answer is to hit the ball squarely (face perpendicular to the ball) so the spin is top down which will loft the ball, which is why some clubs have an angled face, which imparts the vertical spin. You are imparting angular spin because the face when it hits the ball is not flat but angled to the right somewhat. Try rotating the club a little to the left, counterclockwise at the handle end.

Answer 1

Hit it Straight :-)

Answer 2

Try buying a swing trainer called the "Inside Approach". It will help you learn to get your swing on the correct path. It's only about $20 at Target.

Answer 3

this may sound stupid. but try a little bit of wd-40 on the face of your club b4 you hit the ball. you will be amazed at how it works

Answer 4

Maybe you don't need the ball to go straight??? On a golf course you barely need the ball to go straight, but maybe you are playing golf in the driving range, so it just takes a little bit of getting used to.. My advice is that you should play more golf in a course and if you would really want the ball to go straight try adjusting your timing of your swing, hit the ball square off the sweet spot of your club and adjust the timing of your hips to club swing...... If all else fail, you shoudl really get an advice to people at the Sports Atuhority Golf Section, they are very nice people and they are very willing to help you....

Answer 5

lessons would help a lot since i cant see your swing i dont know what your doing wrong ball posisiton may be an issue on driver you want ball posistion off you front irons and what not you want it two ball widths may also have the toe of the club closed when you take the club your swing may not be defenetily get lessons if your serious about getting into golf.

Answer 6

Try bringing the club back further on your backswing. This will allow more time for the clubface to square around.

Answer 7

go to the driving range and practice until you get it right, that's the only wayto do it. get the club pro to come out and watch you swing and give you advice.

Answer 8

wd40 on the club face is considered cheating. The 1st thing you learn as a golfer is to learn and follow all the rules. This is the only sport in which you penalize yourself.....lessons are a must for beginners, cheap when taken with a group...Try lining up your club face with your target before your feet. It sounds like you are coming across the ball on your follow thru rather than straight..

Answer 10

i spray Pam cooking spray on my ball. works Great.

Answer 11

It could be a lot of things. Maybe you are not bringing the club around enough, are not gripping it tight enough, or it couldbe a lot of other things. Try swinging the club slower, and once you get comfortable with it, slowly start swinging faster. The key is to keep on practicing and to be consistent.

Answer 12

stand a lil further from the ball...and make sure your swinging with your hips...not just your arms

Studies show that people stand to profit more when they make stock decisions in groups. And it only makes sense right? When 5 minds can go over the ins and outs of any individual stock - it's easier to decide which is destined to be a winner and which is going to turn up a loser.

Do you think you could benefit from using the minds of several interested stock market hobbyists all determined to make sure you have your money invested in the right shares?

Before you could rely on your broker. You could pore over the stock offerings in your local newspaper with a cup of coffee in your hand. But when left to making decisions on your own - 5, 10, 20 minds are certainly better than one. Learn How To Start An Investment Club For Fun And Profit
