Answer 2Well, you'll first of all need a website or program to calculate your birthchart - for a website see astro. com, for a NIFTY little program download Astrolog . It looks like it was created when Atari Computers were fashionable, but the beauty is that you can then calculate your own and all your friend's charts at the touch of a button, and whizz the whole thing backwards and forwards in time to see what was going on at key moments in your life. Anyway, I digress - once you have your birthchart, you need to know what it all means. You will notice that it has 12 houses - each of those has a meaning and also 10 planets (we still love Pluto). Each of those planets means something - for instance, Mercury is commonly thought of as meaning communication - so if Mercury were in the first house (also known as your Ascendent - which is how you appear to the outside world) then you would appear to the outside world as a communicative person - that is a very rough example, but you get the drift. So - then you look up all the meanings of the planets, and all the meanings of the houses they are in (these are all on the web - just google Saturn in the 4th house, etc...) and figure all that out. Then, you need to figure out how near or far the planets are to each other - you will notice that your birth chart is made up of a 360 degree circle. So if Jupiter was at 1 degree Cancer and Saturn was at 1 degree Virgo, they would be exactly 60 degrees apart - this is called a Sextile - so, Jupiter sextiles Saturn. Sextiles mean that the two planets are working together. If two planets are 90 degrees apart they are "square" (or challenging) each other, if they are 120 degrees apart they are "trine" (or flowing with) each other and if they are 180 degrees apart they are opposing each other. If they are very close to each other, within 5 degrees, they are "conjunct" (or joined). This is the relationship that the planets have to each other in your birth chart, and most websites and astrologers calculate these relationships within a 5 or 6 degree margin. So for example, if Jupiter was at 1 degree Cancer and Mars was at 4 degrees Virgo, it would still be considered a sextile, as it is close enough. Then, when you want to know what is going on in the world, in relation to yourself, you make a chart for the time and place that you are interested in, and compare it to your birthchart. So, if Your Sun is at 6 degrees Leo when you were born, and it is at 6 degrees Leo again, it is probably your birthday! When other planets go round the sky and end up in the same place as where they were when you were born, that is called a return. So, when you are around 29 years old, you will have a Saturn return, as that is how long it takes to go all the way round the chart once. Anyway, bit long but I hope it helps!
