Answer 7Thanks for posting this question. And all of the answers. I am going to look into getting a new one for our barn. Right now my hubby has two manure spreaders (call wife and daughter), but they only work with a lot of pushing and prodding, and they squeal and whine a lot when spreading manure. Perfect fathers day gift idea.
Answer 8you can build one for much cheaper than buying. it can go on the back of a riding lawnmower as well, so u can kill 2 birds with one stone. take 2 boards, 3 or 4 ft. long. strech a piece of heavy chain link fence across the top and nail (with u shaped nails/staples). take a chain and attach to one end of the "spreader" so you can pull the contraption behind you. make sure that the chain u use for attaching to your quad or mower is long enough to allow at least 2 or 3 feet between your riding machine and the spreader so you can turn without getting hung up. i used to put one or 2 rubber tires on the spreader to weigh it down, so it would really crunch up the old manure. it worked extremely well, took a 1/2 hour to make, and only cost a few bucks to make:)
