Best Answer To Studying Abroad Question
Have your mother contact her relatives in Japan and see if any of them will let you live with them while you study Japanese. You can pick up the language just by living there. To make money, you could teach people English. To go to university, since you don't know Japanese, your best bet is to go there through an exchange program where the classes don't require Japanese. There are schools in Japan that teach Japanese to foreigners but I think it costs too much money. You're lucky that you're half so if you have relatives you can live with, I'd do that as it will be much cheaper and there's always someone to practice with or learn from. Another option is in Japan, to sign up for Kumon (tutoring school) to learn English. It sounds crazy, I know. But they will give you homework and tests and since it's written in Japanese, or you have to write Japanese on it sometimes, it can help.
